We look forward to constructive negotiations with Ukrainian side

Comments and statements of the Ombudsman News

In an exclusive interview to a correspondent of the official website, the Human Rights Ombudsman Daria Morozova told about the priority of implementation of paragraph 6 of the Minsk Agreements, as well as the need to change the negotiating approach by the Ukrainian side.

“Over the last week, there have been some changes following the inauguration of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. Above all, this is a change of negotiators. We are awaiting the appointment of new plenipotentiaries to continue the negotiation process. The agreements provided for 2 main objectives: to cease hostilities in Donbass by all means, which, unfortunately, continue, and to conduct the prisoner exchange. The work was completely blocked in the Humanitarian Subgroup. Information on the exchange lists became outdated. We want to avoid mistakes that we had in previous agreements, and we will demand that the Ukrainian side close criminal cases completely so that there is no longer any criminal and political prosecution in the territory of Ukraine,” the Ombudsman said.
