Staff of DPR Ombudsman Office inspected the provision of services in Social Rehabilitation Centre in Snezhnoe for disabled persons and children with disabilities “Rodnik Dobra”. At the moment, 54 children aged under 18 and 23 persons aged 18-35 with disabilities undergo in-patient treatment in the institution.
The Centre has two buildings. It partially occupies the first floor of a former two-storey kindergarten at the address: 17 Lenina Str. There are a classroom, a sensory therapy room, a prayer room, a gym, and a massage room with a ball pit and toys for development of fine motor skills.
Also, the Centre partially occupies the first floor in a five-storey block of flats at the address: 19a Lenina Str. It specializes in the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities under 18. The building has a physical therapy room, a sports hall for physical therapy, a massage room, bathrooms and a recreational area.
The institution provides physical and rehabilitation services aimed at facilitating the speedy restoration of patients’ social life as well as their abilities to live independently and work. An individual rehabilitation plan is developed for each patient, taking into account the diagnosis, the current physical and mental state, personality traits and health opportunities.
The Centre also conducts classes with parents of the patients, aimed at improving their psycho-emotional state, establishing trusting parent-child relationships and developing the necessary models of family education. In order to facilitate the comprehensive development of the spiritual and creative potential of the patients, the Centre regularly organises cultural and leisure activities.
The conditions of providing services in the Social Rehabilitation Centre in Snezhnoe for disabled persons and children with disabilities “Rodnik Dobra” received positive assessment.
