On 5 December, staff of DPR Ombudsman Office held an on-site reception of citizens at the City Administration of Gorlovka.
The reception was conducted together with Chiefs of Departments and Deputy Head of the City Administration, as well as with representatives of Department of Labour and Social Welfare of Gorlovka, Office of the Migration Service in Gorlovka and other authorities.
17 citizens of Gorlovka asked for Ombudsman’s advice and assistance in restoring their rights. Citizens raised issues of providing solid household fuel (coal), work of communal services, issuing passport of the DPR citizen, appealing against actions of state authorities, social benefits and compensation to families of injured and deceased servicemen.
Thanks to the efforts of representatives of the DPR Ombudsman Office, most of the issues were resolved promptly. For instance, assistance in employment was given to citizen K., who found herself in a difficult life situation. Another example, citizen L. will be provided with coal and firewood to use as a heating fuel. Citizens that attended the reception were given advice and clarification of the norms of the current legislation.
As regards complaints against actions of law-enforcement bodies, written appeals were accepted for further review by the DPR Ombudsman.
