In the course of the celebration, the servicemen, who distinguished themselves, got letters and presents. Also, participants of the event honoured the memory of tankmen, who died in battles, with the minute of silence.
It should be noted that Tanker Day celebrated each year on the second Sunday of September. The holiday was established by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of 11 July 1946 to commemorate feats of armoured and mechanized troops in defeating the enemy in years of the Great Patriotic War, and also feats of tank builders in equipping the Armed Forces of the state with armoured vehicles. The modern generation of tankmen of DPR proved that they are worthy of their heroic ancestors. Our servicemen, scarifying themselves stood up for the Fatherland and day by day continue to fight in the name of peace in Donbas.
