On February 8, Dmitry Popov, the Chief Administrator of the Human Rights Ombudsman’s Office in the Donetsk People’s Republic, visited one of the Temporary Accommodation Centres, Kalininsky district of Donetsk, where internally displaced persons live. In an exclusive interview with the correspondent of the official website of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Dmitry Popov told about resettlement of civilians from the front-line regions. “Since January 31, the Armed Forces of Ukraine resumed active fighting throughout the territory of the Republic. For the period between January 31 and the present day, 342 people have been evacuated to the Republic. They are provided with housing, food, warm clothes, hygiene kits and other everyday necessity needs. “We are now in one of the Temporary Accommodation Centres. 78 people were transported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Donetsk People’s Republic, of which 25 were children. In total, 98 children have been resettled throughout the Republic”, – said Dmitry Popov. In the interview, he also reported on the preparation of reserve places for the evacuation of civilians in the event of a new round of conflict escalation and repeated shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
