Representatives of the DPR Human Rights Ombudsman Office conducted an inspection of the educational process and living conditions in the state educational institution “Donetsk Boarding School No.1”
Currently, 163 children aged 7 to 18 are students (grades 1 to 11) of the facility. At the time of the inspection, 24 children were undergoing rehabilitation in the Federal State-Funded Institution “Snegiri” Recreation Complex” under the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation in the Moscow Region, and another 10 children took part in a mini-football tournament in St. Petersburg.
The administration of the institution established productive cooperation with representatives of international and public organizations. On the day of the inspection, students gave a performance as part of a festive event in the boarding school. Also, there was a presentation of photos on their involvement in action “We opt for peace”. As part of this action, children’s drawings are shown in German cities at demonstrations against aggressive actions of the Ukrainian government against Donbass people. The photographs will be on display in a museum of the boarding school. After the event, the children received sweets from the visitors.
Representatives of the Ombudsman Office met the leading staff of the boarding school. They discussed living conditions, medical treatment, education, cultural and disciplinary measures. Administrative staff informed representatives of the Ombudsman on the needs for improving the infrastructure of the institution.
As a result of the inspection, education and living environment for children in the Donetsk Special Boarding School No. 1 received a positive assessment from the staff of DPR Ombudsman Office.
DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova expressed gratitude to the administration and staff of the facility for faithful implementation of their duties.
