On February 9, the Human Rights Ombudsman Office in the Donetsk People’s Republic, together with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross, visited temporary accommodation centres, where people who had earlier been released from Ukrainian captivity live, and delivered humanitarian aid to them. It includes food and personal hygiene kits. 88 people received humanitarian assistance, many of them have serious health problems. These people really need help and support.

We recall that 1213 internally displaced persons, including 219 underage children now live at temporary accommodation centres of the Ombudsman Office in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Since the beginning of the conflict, 5343 referrals to TACs have been issued, 100 of them – in 2018. Mostly these are citizens whose housing has been damaged as a result of hostilities, and citizens who live in shelled areas, as well as persons persecuted for political reasons by Ukrainian authorities.
