On April 24, the DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova and the Head of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine Fiona Frazer met behind closed doors.
One of the issues discussed was the return of documents to persons released as a result of the exchange, as well as their procedural status. The UN representatives agreed that these issues should be raised again at a high level and resolved.
The issue of access of mission representatives to the courtroom for some closed hearings related to the conflict in Donbass was also raised.
In conclusion, the DPR Ombudsman and the Head of the UN Monitoring Mission on Human Rights in Ukraine expressed mutual respect and the desire to continue fruitful cooperation. UN representatives appreciated the extensive comments, prepared by Daria Morozova, on the latest Report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on the human rights situation in Ukraine, and promised that all remarks will be taken into account in future reports.
