On 14 May, Human Rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People’s Republic Daria Morozova held a working meeting with the Head of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine Fiona Frazer.
The meeting was focused on ensuring respect for human rights on both sides of the line of contact. The Head of the Monitoring Mission welcomed the regular presence of representatives of the Human Rights Ombudsman Office at court hearings aimed at ensuring legal protection of citizens and prevent violations. Fiona Frazer thanked Daria Morozova and the staff of the main human rights institution for the commitment to the principles of the rule of law, justice and legality.
The Human Rights Ombudsman and the Head of UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine continued the discussion at another meeting, which took place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People’s Republic on the same day.
